Medicare Rebates
For Australian clients, Medicare rebates are available for up to 10 sessions each year with a General Practitioner (GP) referral and a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP).
Private Health Insurance
Most private health funds reimburse for psychological treatment. Please consult with your fund on this. Lacewing Psychology does not process private health insurance rebates, however, will provide invoices for you to claim with your private health cover.
Cancellation Policy
Please note the following cancellation fees apply:
- When less than 48 hours’ notice is given for a cancellation, 50% of the session fee will be charged.
- When less than 24 hours' notice is given before the agreed appointment, 100% of the session fee will be charge.
- Non-attendance without notice, 100% of the session fee will be charge.
Medicare does not cover cancellation fees.
Bulk Billing
Lacewing Psychology is a private psychology practice, so there are out-of-pocket expenses for the services we offer.
If you are looking for bulk billing psychologists, head to the Psychology Today website listed below for more information.

Book Appointment
You’re welcome to book an appointment directly — no referral is required. However, if you wish to access the Medicare rebate, a referral from a GP or Psychiatrist is necessary. Referrals are also required for third party organisations such as ADF, DVA, and QPS (self-refer program).
