Introduction
Welcome to Lacewing Psychology.
By booking an appointment, attending a session, or using our website, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are designed to ensure transparency, respect, and a safe therapeutic experience for all clients.
1. Services Provided
Lacewing Psychology provides psychological assessment, counselling, and therapy services delivered by qualified and registered psychologists.
All services are provided in accordance with professional ethical standards set by the Psychology Board Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Code of Conduct.
2. Appointments and Cancellations
Booking
Appointments can be made via email or our online booking system.
New clients will be asked to complete an intake form before the first session.
Cancellations and Late Notice
To ensure fairness and availability for all clients:
- Cancellations must be made more than 48 hours before your scheduled appointment.
- Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a late cancellation fee (up to the full session fee).
- Non-attendance without notice will also incur the full session fee.
We understand that emergencies happen — please contact us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule.
3. Fees and Payments
Fees
Session fees are set by Lacewing Psychology and may vary depending on the type of service.
Fees will be clearly communicated before your first appointment.
Payment
- Payment is due at the time of each session, unless otherwise arranged.
- Accepted payment method includes credit card only.
- Medicare and private health rebates may apply (depending on eligibility and referral type).
Outstanding Balances
Unpaid fees may result in suspension of further sessions until the account is settled.
4. Confidentiality
All information shared during sessions is confidential and handled in accordance with the Psychology Board AHPRA Code of Conduct for Psychologists and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Information will only be disclosed without consent when:
- Required by law (e.g. court subpoena, mandatory reporting)
- There is a serious and imminent risk to your safety or the safety of others
- Consultation with another professional is needed for clinical supervision (with identifying details removed wherever possible)

5. Communication and Record Keeping
- Email and SMS may be used for appointment reminders and basic communication.
- Please note that these are not fully secure forms of communication for sensitive matters.
- Clinical notes are stored securely in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- You have the right to access your records upon written request.
6. Website Use
When using our website:
- You agree not to use it for unlawful purposes or to transmit harmful or misleading material.
- Information on the site is for general educational purposes and should not replace professional advice.
- We make reasonable efforts to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date but do not guarantee completeness or accuracy at all times.
7. Professional Boundaries
Lacewing Psychology maintains clear professional boundaries at all times.
Therapeutic relationships are not social or personal in nature, and contact outside of scheduled sessions is limited to professional communication only.

9. Limitation of Liability
While we take all reasonable care in delivering our services, Lacewing Psychology and its practitioners are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from participation in therapy or use of our website, except where required by Australian law.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal obligations.
Any updates will be published on our website, and continued use of our services will signify acceptance of those changes.
Book Appointment
You’re welcome to book an appointment directly — no referral is required. However, if you wish to access the Medicare rebate, a referral from a GP or Psychiatrist is necessary. Referrals are also required for third party organisations such as ADF, DVA, and QPS (self-refer program).
